2-Day Basic Floor Training Seminar

This guide is intended for people with little or no experience in the decorative concrete overlay industry that are interested in getting started in this highly profitable business.

How to start a business as an installer of CONCRETEWISE Africa products?

1.       Attend a “Basic Training” seminar. Keep in mind that this is the first step in your training process.

2.       Purchase the basic tools and equipment you will need. Keep in mind that some of the tools are specialty tools and although we do not even try to sell you something you can source locally, we do carry the specialty tools that you need to get started that we know you won’t find on your own.

3.       Return home from “Basic Training” and install an application or two. We don’t expect you to go out and install a Thin Stamped Coating on a 1000 sq/m driveway, but getting your hands in the material on smaller jobs such as a 20 sq/m patio or sidewalk is critical to your learning curve and understanding of the products and systems.

4.       Begin the basic stages of setting up a business; create a company name, purchase business cards, and begin to promote and market your services. Talk to your Authorized Distributor for detailed advice.

5.       Begin basic advertising. We will direct you on marketing techniques during the “Basic Training”. Keep in mind that although this business is a construction type trade, there are aspects of this industry that you will find that don’t allow you to market and advertise in the same manner in which you would with other trades. We will explain that in detail with you and work with you long after the initial “Basic Training” to ensure you are successful.

6.       Begin more advanced advertising:

  • Website... Promote the CONCRETEWISE Africa Website. Your association with the site, makes you part of an International Organization and therefore far more credible.

  • Brochures... CONCRETEWISE Africa already did the leg work with several pieces of print brochures, flyers, postcards, yard signs, etc. that do not have our address or phone number on them but do have places to tape your business card or stamp your company information. Just stamp the back of each one with your information and you are ready to go.

  • Trade shows... Home and Garden shows are best but also consider your Agricultural shows, Flea Markets and Shopping Centre displays, Builder’s expos, chamber of commerce shows, etc. These types of shows (especially home and garden shows) are a spring board for launching your business.

 7.       Talk to your Authorized Distributor every day. We know that “every day” sounds like a lot but we want to make sure you are successful. Let them know what you are doing and what you are lacking. They can help you with all of your questions and answers. Yes, every day. There is a wealth of information there to be learned. Get ideas about just about every aspect of this business. Don’t be shy.
